Get to Know Me!

Welcome!

I am Dr. Lindsey (she/they), a licensed Occupational Therapist in Richmond, VA. I work with teens, young adults, and their loved ones to develop the necessary mental health skills needed to support their occupational performance.

My training includes trauma-informed care, neurodivergent-affirming approaches, sensory regulation, polyvagal theory, self-determination theory, and dialectical behavior therapy.

My specialties include working with adolescents and young adults struggling to balance their mental health needs and occupational participation needs. I provide therapy in your community using Safe and Sound principles, DBT principles, and self-determination, and self-regulation.

A bit more about me -

I grew up in the beautiful bluegrass of KY. Life took me on lots of adventures before I ended up in Virginia, where I now call home. I recieved my bachelors degree in Health Promotion from Lynchburg College (now University of Lynchburg) in 2015 and learned early on that occupational therapy was my calling. I went on to pursue my Masters of Occupational Therapy from James Madison University, graduating in 2017. My research passions throughout had an emphasis on mental health with a culminating project supporting the mental health of military caregivers.

I began my first job in pediatric psychiatry with VCU Health shortly after graduating and have spent the last several years honing in on my skills, learning, and growing. When the pandemic hit and the world went still, I became restless and pursued my Doctorate of Occupational Therapy with Quinnipiac University. I graduated in 2022 after completing a capstone project related OT's understanding of primitive reflex retention due to trauma.

When I am not working, I love spending time with my dog and husband, reading lots of books, exploring Richmond, going to concerts, creating things, and being aunt to lots of sweet nieces and nephews.
